Seville has an amazing system of community bike system.
There are personal bikes in the city but many people ride these community bikes. This means that when you park your bike, it stays there for the next person. Walk or bus to your next location and you will find more bikes within 300 meters or less from where you get off.
Not only that but there are bike sidewalks – like highways – on very busy streets where you can ride and generally have the road without car interference.
The bikes with the red bumpers all have fairly wide tires, chain guards, and lights.
Your slide through card activates your account so the system knows who was responsible for which bikes. I guess this keeps everyone honest. I aware that, for other community bike systems there were many problems with stolen bikes. Apparently not here.
